JUUL Labs has confirmed a deal to supply its vaping product to all of Sainsbury’s c.1,400 stores, including supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations, from 4th November 2018. 282 stores will stock JUUL within a dedicated space on the shop floor, with a full shelf dedicated to JUUL products, including a starter kit, as well as Golden Tobacco, Glacier Mint, Mango Nectar, and Royal Crème flavours. All remaining stores will have JUUL behind the counter or via the kiosk.
Dan Thomson, UK Managing Director for JUUL Labs, said “Our mission is to impact the lives of the world’s one billion adult smokers. Until now, JUUL has been available in the UK from vape stores and online, so this is a ringing endorsement for our product from a major UK supermarket and will allow us to reach a wider audience of smokers, to help them to switch”.
JUUL was created by founders James Monsees and Adam Bowen, who applied their background in product design to the challenge of finding a satisfying alternative to smoking. The JUUL Device operates with JUULpods that click intuitively into the top of the device. JUUL uses a closed-loop temperature control vapour technology device which has been designed to maintain the temperature needed for optimal vaporization while avoiding combustion. The liquid is heated using an industry standard wick and nichrome coil system. JUUL is also available from Selfridges, specialist vape stores and through JUUL Labs’ own age-controlled online retail site www.JUUL.co.uk for adult smokers only.
